This subdirectory contains the latest versions of MOMI. The subdirectory names themselves indicate the release series. The following are available: MOMI subdirectory series ------------ ------ v1 1.xx v2 2.xx v3 3.xx Starting with Version 3 of MOMI, the software is versioned by package. A package is a collection of various components. The package will have the name MOMI 3_xx.ttt where xx is the package release number and ttt is either EXE or ZIP. The higher the release number, the later the software. So, for example the package MOMI 3_03.ZIP is later than MOMI 3_01.ZIP. The MOMI series 1.xx & 2.xx use the file name to indicate the version of the client (what runs on the PC) and the server (what runs on the Tandem). The higher the number, the later the version. The ZIP format contains the entire contents of MOMI release broken out into various subdirectories. The ZIP is downloaded to the PC, expanded and then individual components accessed. Run SETUP to install the PC client. The EXE file contains the MOMI client for direct installation on the PC without the need for decompression first. Note that there are no major differences between the ZIP and EXE other than the format. When installing the PC client, select the "custom" option to cause the TANDEM server based components to extract out on the PC. The Tandem components must then be moved Tandem server, usually via FTP. Generally speaking, for a given release series (i.e. v1, v2, v3...) the client and server do not have to be upgraded at the same time. The usual approach would be to upgrade the Tandem components first and the PC client(s) second. A protection mechanism in the client will not allow it to connect to a server that is not compatible. Check the README files for any release specific compatibility issues. PC Client install note : The sample CALENDAR.MOM file will not be installed with the Typical installation. You must choose a Custom Install. If CALENDAR.MOM already exists and you try to install a new copy, the install program will give a misleading error message saying 'An Error occurred while extracting a file:' Answer yes to the error message and the install will complete. The client installation process will NOT overwrite your copy of the CALENDAR.MOM file.
